The Shop!
I’ve always dreamed of opening my own small business. I just honestly never knew how, or even what to do. All I knew was that I hated working behind a desk all day. I loved interacting with people, but there were never enough chances to learn and try new things. I’m not the sort of person who is happy doing the same thing over and over. I job-hopped quite a bit, hoping the next job would bring more fulfillment. It never did.
That’s not to say I didn’t love some of those jobs — I truly did. I just got bored very quickly.
Then 2020 happened…
Because of what was going on in the world, I had extra downtime from a slow real-estate market (I was an agent then), and I started to dabble again in art. Over those months it finally hit me: this was it. I could start a business doing what I love. Interior design, woodworking, crafting. Why not mix all of those and open a shop?
In 2020 I only posted digital downloadable art. It was a start. In early 2021 I added physical pieces, and that’s when growth began. Now I can do what I love — and through this journal I can also talk about Who I love, Jesus Christ. This work is a dream come true, and I’m grateful.
