Farmhouse Signs
One of my favorite things about this work is getting to woodwork. I absolutely love it. With the right tools you can do so much — and these farmhouse signs are some of my favorite pieces. Easy to customize, and they can be the focal point of a room.
I have a wood sign over my bed that quotes a verse in the Song of Solomon. I enjoy waking up every morning and reading it. The Bible says in Deuteronomy 11:
Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as reminders on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, speaking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Write them on the doorposts of your houses and on your gates…
These signs are not written on our doorposts. I still think it matters to keep God’s word before us. I used to write verses on post-it notes and stick them all over the house — I honestly still should — but these signs make the reminder a beautiful piece of décor too.
